These condos were originally built in 1996 as apartments and then converted to condominiums in 2005. There are two swimming pools, two spas, a large fitness center, and the entire community is gated. Did we mention that its walking distance to a new light rail stop and that condos are priced in the low $200's per square foot? :-)

The 1, 2 and 3 bedroom floor plans are excellent. The kitchens open to the living area and the floor plans flow well. Standard finishes include slab granite in the kitchen AND bathrooms, beautiful new "espresso" (dark brown) cabinets in the kitchen AND bathrooms, stainless finish appliances, upgraded contemporary lighting, all new nickel door and bathroom hardware, and vessel sinks in the baths (vessel sinks are the cool "bowls" that sit on top of the countertop vs. being sunk into the countertops). The look and style is fresh just the way we like it.

Buy here and you'll be able to catch the light rail to Phoenix Downtown or Tempe. Enjoy a ball game (Suns or D-Backs), eat at any one of the fantastic restaurants along the rail, attend classes at the new Downtown Phoenix ASU or U of A campuses, or bar hop and not worry about a DUI! The Hawthorne offers a real "make sense" location at a make sense price. With land prices as high as they are along the light rail we think that it is highly unlikely that any new condo communities will be able to undercut the prices at The Hawthorne. If we are right then The Hawthorne offers the last opportunity to buy at this price along the light rail.

Most recent word on Hawthorne Condominiums is that they were put on the market by Corus Bank (the lender on the project when it was converted from apartments to condos) for approximately $60k per condo.

The Hawthorne, Phoenix

Seeking small condo. Needing to sell 2300 sq. ft. house in xxxxxx Park West. $150 equity in house. Want condo for not much more than that as husband is getting ready to retire. We are tired of maintaining the large corner lot and pool etc. Am using my mother\'s email. Can you help us find a condo in central or downtownPhoenix for a small amt of money? We are ready now. We looked at Hawthorne from outside today and somewhere in that area or over on Clarendon etc. is fine. Thank you. We need an agent.
