What a bummer! University Square has been dramatically reconfigured to replace all residential condos with hotel and convention space.

The new plans call for a $200M structure with 1.2 million square feet containing 95,000 square feet of convention space (the new City of Phoenix Convention Center has approximately ten times this amount), 111,000 square feet of retail space, and a fourteen story hotel.

Even though we would have loved to see more condos in downtown Tempe clearly there is no demand for them now. So the changes to University Square are probably for the best.
