Plans to give the east side of Scottsdale Fashion Square a makeover with a new Barneys New York received a thumbs up recently from the Scottsdale Development Review Board.
A formal review for approval of the site plans is expected to go before the board in May, followed by other reviews of the new stores’ elevation.
The 270,000-square-foot project at the eastern end of the shopping center will include small retail shops and a second luxury anchor just north and west from where the Barneys will be built.
Much of the face-lift that faces Scottsdale Road, north of Camelback Road, will have outdoor features similar to Kierland Commons.
