ARCADIA – Site plans for a controversial residential resort development project at the Camelback Corridor gateway to Arcadia has been filed with Phoenix.
Phoenix-based M3 Cos. wants to build the $450 million CamelSquare at 44th, northwest of 44th Street and Camelback Road.
The project, as tall as 98 feet, is one of three mixed-use projects proposed for separate corners of the intersection.
The Arcadia Camelback Mountain Neighborhood Association is opposed to all three. Current zoning limits heights in the area no more than 56 feet.
CamelSquare at 44th would replace 12 existing two-story office and medical buildings totaling 300,000 square feet. The project’s key elements include: A blend of housing, ranging from condominium homes to large estate homes, shops and restaurants, a boutique hotel, wellness center and offices.
