SCOTTSDALE – Opponents of condominiums proposed for a strip of land behind Holy Cross Lutheran Church have one more chance to block the complex.
Neighbors who unsuccessfully challenged the condos in April at the Planning Commission will take their fight today to the City Council.
Modus Development wants to build 42 units on the 1.82-acre site at 3110 N. Hayden Road. The developer said he will use "green" building techniques such as solar power and underground parking.
"The project, as proposed, is not compatible with the neighborhood either in height, nor looks," wrote Marti McVey in an e-mail to the council.
The council is being asked to rezone the site from single-family residential to a high-density "urban neighborhoods" category.
