Tempe’s tallest building topped off – Arizona Republic

Centerpoint Condominium’s first tower has been visible on Tempe’s skyline for months, but now the growth spurt is complete.

The roof on the 22-story building was finished Friday.

The top floor is a penthouse with three elevators and sweeping Valley views. The building is the tallest in Tempe, at 258 feet.

There is still months of work ahead to complete the tower. Workers will spend the summer "wrapping" the building in green-tinted glass, said Andrea Kalmanovitz, a spokeswoman for the Avenue Communities development company.

The glass should be in place by September, she said.

The condo tower is intended to be one of four buildings slated to be part of Centerpoint. The other three buildings have approval from the city to reach 30 stories.

The second building is also in the works and should be "topped off" in December, Kalmanovitz said.
