Well, we scooped The Phoenix Business Journal with the news that the building formerly known as Century Plaza got a new name. However, I misreported the new name. It is One Lexington NOT One Lexington Place as I mistakenly wrote yesterday. The Business Journal did go public with expected starting prices for the soon to be re-released [...]

You may have read last week that Century Plaza, the once failing high-rise condo building in midtown Phoenix, had turned a major corner when Macdonald Development Corporation purchased the remaining 130 condominiums from M&I Bank. With the purchase we told you to expect a new infusion of cash and condos offered at significantly reduced prices. For at least the last [...]

We Know Urban Realty is asking visitors to “review” our web site by visiting one (or several) “comment oriented” web sites. We’re often told that WeKnowUrban.com is unique and unlike other real estate web sites….good right? However, we’d like to hear more specifics. Do you find the site useful for your high-rise or loft condo search? Do you [...]

The remaining 130 condominiums at Century Plaza are finally out of limbo (foreclosure) and are coming back to the market in the near future at significantly lower prices. We can’t release those prices yet but suffice it to say that they will again “make sense” and should result in tremendous sales activity even in today’s real [...]

We reported previously that Optima Development had acquired the Orchid Tree apartment building at the south east corner of 68th Street and Camelback with the intention of razing it and building a mixed use condo development, presumably similar to Optima Biltmore Towers and/or Optima Camelview Village. AzCentral.com just re-reported essentially the same thing with a [...]
My previous post on the topic stated the purchase price as being $15M. The actual amount was closer to $16M. Optima reportedly purchased the 278 unit apartment complex with the intent to tear it down and build upscale luxury condominiums on the 8.54 acre site. I am very curious to know what the proposed time [...]
We just learned that Optima Development bought Orchid Tree Apartments at the south east corner of Camelback Road and 68th Street. Optima paid approximately $15M for the property. We haven’t heard yet what is planned. Optima has built two residential condo communities in town, Biltmore Towers and Camelview Village but has built commercial office buildings in Chicago and [...]

A week ago or so I wrote a blog post telling prospective high rise condo buyers to hold off until further notice because I had big news forthcoming. Well the news was that M & I Bank, the construction lender for Century Plaza, is selling the note. Basically, M&I took the $70 some-odd million dollar [...]
There is only ONE condo for rent in the brand new and super cool Century Plaza High Rise and we’re representin’ it. It’s a one bedroom, one bath, with fantastic upgrades, located on the fourteenth floor on the north side of the building. Soooo, it has sick views up central avenue and of Camelback Mountain, [...]
