| About 300 condominiums in
six- and eight-story buildings are proposed in CityNorth, a
144-acre mixed-use community planned next to Desert Ridge in
northeast Phoenix.
The goal for the new
development east of Desert Ridge is about 1,000 condos; two
boutique hotels; 1 million square feet of retail space; and
2 million square feet of office space.
The developer is the Thomas
J. Klutznick Co., a privately held real estate investment
and development company based in Chicago. Master plans and
designs are by Nelsen Architects of Scottsdale and Austin,
Texas.
Construction is expected to
start in early 2006. The development's boundaries are the
east edge of Desert Ridge, 56th Street, Deer Valley Drive
and the Pima Freeway (Loop 101).
Local retail and restaurant
tenants will be handled by Southwest Retail Group Inc. of
Scottsdale, and national tenants are the responsibility of
Related Urban Development of New York.
