Imperial Plaza

Location:  NE corner of 32nd Street & Glenrosa Ave., North of Indian School Rd.

Description:  The Imperial Plaza, a 500,000 square-foot project that would occupy a city block bordered by Jackson and Madison streets, and Fourth and Fifth avenues, will reside where Imperial Lithographics is located. Officials said they’ve already begun pre-leasing space in the future development and they plan to complete construction within three years.

Officials said they’re still in discussions with potential development partners, but have named Phoenix-based DFD CornoyerHedrick as the architect.

Imperial Plaza will include over 300,000 square feet of offices, up 100 loft-style apartments, and 20,000 to 30,000 square feet of retail space. Parts of the planned project could rise as high as 22 stories, Barbey said.

Project officials they will design the plaza with a focus on open spaces for pedestrian use.

Imperial Plaza officials said the retail portion of the project will include restaurants and gallery space and, a coffee cafe, dry cleaner, and childcare center.
