Description:
The Upton. 10 luxury Condominium town-homes nestled in the heart of
downtown Scottsdale, less than ½ a city block from the new W hotel,
Scottsdale Waterfront and a short walk to a wealth of local
shopping, restaurants and cultural activities.
The Upton will be a
dynamic and sculptural contribution to the growing residential and
pedestrian oriented urbanism of downtown Scottsdale. Ten unique
luxury condominium dwellings are organized around a central
courtyard of landscape and shade. The multiple unit plans encompass
a rich variety of floorplans, and are conceived as spacious retreats
in the heart of Scottsdale. Large terraces connect each dwelling to

The Upton is an intimate enclave of urban homes incorporating
world-class architecture by Will Bruder. Inspired in part by the
site location, which was adjacent to a lost but definitive example
of Modern Architecture, the 1950 Louis C. Upton residence by
Architect Paul Schweikher, Bruder has created an architectural
statement that is destined to become not only a significant design
landmark, but the luxury residence address in Scottsdale.
Wrapped around a dramatic courtyard, each home offers its own
exterior entry and spacious private balconies and patios. From the
street, the elegant front elevation is clad in Copper, Aluminum &
Steel plates, which segue into the hand-toweled plaster inner
courts. Metal “curtain” walls cascade along the façade and balcony
perforations of the building. The main entry is defined by
Fiberglass resin panels and pivot door, which leads into a private
waterscape featuring a fascinating and dramatic floating-flame
fire-feature, in homage to a similar concept in original Upton home.
Once inside you’ll find a lap pool and large covered patio room
adjacent to the pool
 Every
home offers a minimum of two generous bedrooms and one unit will be
designated Live/Work, offering a separate professional office entry
from the street. The project is three stories high with underground
parking. A unique single, top-floor, “Penthouse” unit will have
access by key-card protected elevator. Approximate home sizes range
from 1650-2550 Square Feet. Two-car parking in the secured
underground garage is standard for every home.
Interiors will offer superb finishes including polished-edge
Stainless-Steel plate counters, Modernist appliances, high quality
flooring and a palette of signature Bruder details. Wood cabinets
are standard as are Kohler Faucets and fixtures. Certain units
incorporate colored fiberglass resin panels along the balcony. Every
house will have a unique, custom entry door, as well as a unique
entry approach. The buildings playful roofline allows the ceiling
heights to vary and dance, with most living space ceilings soaring
to 12 feet.
An exercise in creating an enduring piece of world-class modern
architecture, only the finest finishes and highest quality materials
will be offered, all vetted and selected personal by the architect
and his team. UrbanEdge Builders has been retained as general
contractors for this project.
Price Range: Final prices are yet to be announced, but will
be competitive against luxury Urban homes, with an expected target
price range of $1.2 to 1.8M. Construction will begin this Winter and
would be anticipated to be complete by Fall 2008. Reservations Now
