Midtown Phoenix February 9, 2008
Covering: The Hawthorne Condominiums, Century Plaza High Rise and Portland Place Lofts.
The Midtown Phoenix Tour started out bumpy because the bus didn't show up! Talk about stress. Anyway, we found a solution and we were able to take detailed tours of three wonderful communities.
Our first stop at Hawthorne Condominiums was interesting to many tour attendees because it's affordable AND very close to the new light rail system under construction. Many times we tour properties which are in the $400+ per square foot price range so it was great to see something at half that or $200,000. The Hawthorne offers contemporary finishes with slab granite countertops in the kitchen and bathrooms, glass vessel sinks in the bathrooms, European style fixtures and hardware, beautiful wood cabinets in a gated community walking distance from the new rail. These make a lot of sense for urban enthusiasts on a budget. Call us for a personal tour or more info.
Century Plaza is a wonderful high rise condo building under construction right on Central Avenue about 150 yards from a light rail stop. If you want views there are VERY few buildings in Phoenix that can give Century Plaza any competition. Because Century Plaza is located just fifteen or so feet back off of Central Avenue the condominiums seem to float over Central Avenue and have unobstructed views north and south along Central. It's a fantastic building and well worth checking out.
Portland Place Lofts is one of my favorite buildings in all of Midtown Phoenix located on a part of Portland Avenue that feels like its from an era long gone. This condo community is also a short walk from a new light rail stop and has great views of two parks, Downtown Phoenix buildings (including 44 Monroe) and Midtown Phoenix buildings like Artisan on Central, Chateaux on Central and Tapestry.

As always we owe a huge THANK YOU to Mike Williard, an amateur photographer and very special friend of WeKnowUrban who shot these great photos.
