Three Fountains is a gem of a mid-century modern town home community designed by Al Beadle and built in 1963. This 59 town home community is located across and just down the street from La Grand Orange and Postinos and a short and friendly bike ride from Chelsea's Kitchen and Vincent's.
The community is tall, narrow and dense giving it an urban feel and yet the lush landscaping and shaded pathways softens it and makes it neighborly. Beadle stacked two pieces of narrow but tall (eight or nine foot) colored glass to create a band of color running vertically from the ground to the roofs. He built dramatic 20 foot frames on which to hang solar sails. He designed tall narrow breezeways, uninterrupted by glass or other materials. His interior spaces are efficient and offer large expanses of space with clean lines and sharp angles and tons of glass.
Every town home has 1024 square feet and unless altered has a half bathroom downstairs and two bedrooms and a 3/4 bath upstairs. Many units have been retrofitted to include a private clothes washer and dryer but Three Fountains also has two community laundry rooms. Every town home has a quaint and secluded back patio space surrounded by tall privacy walls. There are two pools.
This is a cool and convenient place to live and prices are affordable, especially for the area. If you want to have a look, give us a call, Three Fountains is well worth it.
