Optima Sonoran Village is a huge 726,000 square foot luxury apartment community on about 9.8 acres in downtown Scottsdale at the south east corner of Camelback Road and 68th Street.

History: In the summer of 2010, Optima Inc, the developers of Optima Camelview Village (a mid-rise condo development just north of Scottsdale Fashion Square) and Optima Biltmore Towers (a high rise condo project at 24th Street and Camelback) announced its purchase of an old building called Orchid Tree Apartments for approximately $16 million dollars. Optima further declared its intentions to tear down the apartment building and to build five midrise buildings (4 of seven stories and 1 of five terraced stories) of luxury condo flats similar to those located at Optima Camelview Village on the site. Also, about four acres (of the 9.8) was set aside for the perimeter of the community as "common area" to further soften the impact on the neighborhood.
